Lead Cook

Established family owned pizza restaurant looking for evening Lead cook.   32-35 hours a week.   Evening hours 2pm- approximately 9pm.

Monday through Friday OR Tuesday through Saturday.

Our family began this establishment in Princeton Minnesota in 1983.   Despite the growth in our community and the competition of larger corporate and franchised operations, we have maintained our position within the community.   We have had a loyal customer base for the duration of our existence in Princeton and strive to keep those customers.  As we look forward, we would like to create new and innovative ways to attract new customers while still being consistent with what we have offered the community over the past 41 years.    We are looking for a kitchen manager that understands this vision and is willing to work with our family to achieve these goals.   Our restaurant is a team.   We understand the value of tradition and simplicity, but also want to move forward in creating new business with new customers.  The owners, managers and staff of 25 work together is every aspect of running the Pizza Barn.  If you value teamwork, a family atmosphere and a genuinely good hearted group of co-workers, the Pizza Barn is an ideal job for you.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secure knowledge and understanding of menu and how to prepare each menu item

  • Ability to comply with our cooking methods, portion sizes and standards to maintain consistency with our menu.

  • Handle, rotate, store and stock all food products properly.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area as well as share in the responsibility and maintenance of the entire kitchen area and equipment throughout the shift and for closing.  Understanding of how to use a variety of commercial kitchen equipment.

  • Assist and work alongside a crew in the evening/dinner time operation.

  • Oversee tracking and reporting on food waste, inventory, and employee duties.

  • Communication with customers, resolving conflicts and customer concerns in a professional manner to maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Daily food prep.

  • Professional appearance at all times by wearing clean Pizza Barn uniformand making sure all employees comply to that as well.

  • Prepare for dinnertime service and closing duties.

  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.

  • Monitor and observe guest dining experience.  Ensure customers are satisfied with food and service.  Respond promptly with requests by wait-staff and customers.
